6 / 1990 - places of transport, building technology

The issue is published in Finnish with English summaries of most of the articles.

The work of Graz architects cannot be described in conventional regionalist terms. The context of Volker Giencke's buildings is present. Among other things, Giecke is designing the Austrian pavilion at the Seville Expo. Two other projects of his are presented on pages 63–67.

The traditional rational of structure is to expess the inevitable law of gravity. The moving and the static, kinetics and statics seem opposed to each other. One criterion for evaluating the projects presented in this issue is whether the architecture of structure can express motion and weightlessness. On pages 68–75 Sebastiano Brandolini describes designs for the Barcelona Olympics.
