Architect Matti Jänkälä interviewed Professor of Real Estate Economics Seppo Junnila on how this manifesto, which has now been expanded into a book, might translate into practice.

IN 2021, AMIDST THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, French architect Charlotte Malterre-Barthes published a provocative manifesto on a global moratorium on new construction. Among the demands was halting new construction and demolition to enable the construction industry to realign itself with more sustainable practices.
