The neo-Renaissance apartment building at the corner of the streets Korkeavuorenkatu and Punanotkonkatu in the Helsinki district of Ullanlinna has previously been used, among other things, as the offices of the Finnish section of the Russian secret police force Okhrana, but now the building has been restored to its original use as an apartment building. In addition to the house designed by Axel Högberg, completed in 1889, the inner courtyard includes an office wing designed by Pirkko and Arvi Ilonen (1991), which received a completely new facade during the renovation and conversion to apartments. Architect Jani Prunnila shares his thoughts on designing high-quality housing and working with strict protection provisions.
