Collector’s home

The family home of architect Kaarlo Viljanen has gradually taken shape over the course of four decades, whilst elsewhere the built heritage has been demolished, redeveloped or abandoned.

The three-storey tower was completed as an extension of the old log cabin in 1982, and the living room wing next to it three years later. All the photos in the article were taken by Tuomas Uusheimo in the summer of 2026.
